About Busra Cundioglu

Busra Cundioglu is the Founder and Principal Attorney of Busra Cundioglu, PLLC. She advises and represents businesses, entrepreneurs, executives, and individuals in commercial disputes, business transactions, corporate and ownership matters, and other significant legal issues.

What distinguishes Ms. Cundioglu’s practice is the trial, courtroom, and appellate perspective she brings to each client engagement. She does not treat an agreement, transaction, or business decision as a drafting exercise in isolation. Instead, she considers how its language will operate in practice, how the factual record may develop, and how legal issues may be evaluated at trial and, where appropriate, on appeal. This perspective helps clients assess risk early, preserve leverage, and make informed decisions before disputes escalate.

Ms. Cundioglu’s litigation experience includes commercial and civil matters involving motion practice, discovery, depositions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation, and trial work including jury trials. She has represented clients in business and contract disputes, ownership and partnership conflicts, commercial collection matters, real-estate and property disputes, professional and service disputes, employment-related matters, and other complex civil litigation. She also has experience serving as outside counsel to businesses, managing significant litigation caseloads, and supervising and training attorneys and professional staff.

Her practice includes commercial and civil litigation; corporate and business law; entity formation and structuring; owner, partnership, and shareholder agreements; governance and internal business matters; commercial contracts; purchases, sales, and other transactions; business ownership disputes; construction and infrastructure; real estate and commercial leasing; logistics, transportation, and maritime matters; international trade and cross-border business; employment, wage, and labor matters; family law; bankruptcy; and selected insurance and personal-injury matters.

During her early legal training and internship experiences, Ms. Cundioglu developed a public-service and courtroom foundation through work with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fairfax County, Virginia, and the Insurance and Unemployment Fraud Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Criminal Bureau. She also trained through the Harvard Law School Criminal Justice Institute, where she assisted in representing indigent adults and juveniles in Boston Municipal Court from arrest through disposition. These experiences provided hands-on exposure to investigations, courtroom procedure, case assessment, and advocacy from both prosecutorial and defense perspectives.

Ms. Cundioglu later practiced international trade and intellectual-property litigation in Washington, D.C., focusing on Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission and related federal matters involving patents, trademarks, trade dress, and customs law. She is the author of Potential, But Untried Uses of Section 337, published for the International Trade Commission Trial Lawyers Association.

In 2017, Ms. Cundioglu relocated to New York, where she continued to build her private practice at law firms of varying sizes and structures, including as a Senior Associate at a large law firm, before founding her own practice. Since 2012, she has developed experience representing clients in complex civil and commercial matters and advising businesses through significant disputes, transactions, and operational legal issues.

Since her high school years, Ms. Cundioglu has lived, studied, and built her legal career in the United States. Her longstanding U.S. experience, combined with her Turkish background, gives her a practical understanding of American legal and business culture as well as the cross-cultural considerations that can arise for Turkish and other international clients. She provides counsel in English and Turkish.
